As part of the programming we offer at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, we invite schools in Butler County and surrounding areas to schedule a field trip to our facility with their special needs classrooms. Our hope is that the usage of our fields will support their curriculum and enhance the lives of the students by giving them the experience of playing baseball, kickball or whiffle ball on a field that is safe and accessible.
Students of all ages have enjoyed field trips to our facility over the last year. Special Education classrooms may pair up with other classrooms or schools, or may schedule a visit on their own. There is no age restriction and groups may bring a packed lunch or snack during their visit.
Schools must complete a facility rental agreement, provide proof of insurance from their district, as well as complete short satisfaction surveys in order to attend.
Here’s what a few teachers have had to say about their field trip experience:
“The experience was more than expected by most. They are already asking to go to the next event and to come back to next year’s baseball trip. What a difference a day of baseball meant to all of our Sycamore students. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to use the most beautiful facility in Cincinnati. You have made it truly first class. We are already looking forward to playing again next year at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Field of Dreams.” – Sycamore High School teacher
“The kids had a great time. I talked about the experience all weekend! I can’t wait to come back!” – Milford High School teacher
“ALL students had a great time no matter what strengths they have. The whole day was very empowering and self-esteem boosting (i.e. jumbotron). Thank you!” – Talawanda High School teacher
“I would love to do this annually with my special needs students and other students in my building.” – Fairfield Elementary School teacher
