FAIRFIELD, OH (February 3, 2025)—A popular Nuxhall Foundation event is returning for its fourth year with the goal of taking big swings for the organization’s future dreams.
Leading Ladies Night Out, an evening celebrating women who make miracles in Greater Cincinnati, takes place on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Topgolf in West Chester. Proceeds from the event will support The Nuxhall Foundation and The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields—a place where every individual with every challenge gets every chance to play and experience belonging. This year’s event is presented by Playground Equipment Services—a character-driven company that has made a tremendous impact on the mission of The Nuxhall Foundation.
Local 12’s host of Good Morning Cincinnati Sheila Gray and Amanda Brennaman, wife of Hall of Fame Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman, are returning as celebrity hosts of the event. Attendees are invited to join Gray and Brennaman for a fun night of Topgolf gameplay, food and drink, networking, fun, and difference-making.
"Hosting Leading Ladies Night Out to support the incredible work of The Nuxhall Foundation is a tremendous honor for me,” says Brennaman. “Throughout their legendary careers, Marty and Joe built such incredible goodwill through their genuine friendship, and it's fun for me to see that carry on through this event with all the people who listened to them on the radio for years. When we all come together for this event, we are raising awareness and funds to help a cause that is near and dear to my heart, and so many good things happen as a result. I love the game of golf, and this event makes me love it even more!"
Sheila Gray, a longtime supporter of The Nuxhall Foundation and 2019 winner of the Joe Nuxhall Humanitarian Award, is equally excited for this year’s event.
"Is there anything more fun than girl time, a little sports, and some shopping?” says Gray. “I love Leading Ladies Night Out because it gives me time to catch up with my friend Amanda and so many other great women I don't get to see very often, while, of course, raising money to support the athletes we all love at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields. I look forward to the food, friendship, and ‘fun’-raising at Topgolf year after year, and I can't wait to see everyone there!"
Year four of this popular event promises to be its biggest yet. In its first three years, the event has raised more than $65,000 to support the work of The Nuxhall Foundation.
A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will support construction of The Hope Center—a 31,000 square foot indoor recreational facility to be built specifically for athletes with special needs at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields. The facility will provide a permanent home to the Butler County Special Olympics, and will also feature accessible fitness and recreational equipment, an inviting community room, and a display of Joe Nuxhall’s life and career through The Nuxhall Archives.
Additional proceeds will help to fund the ongoing operations at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, including the exciting addition of new, accessible playground equipment that promotes imaginative play and sensory development.
For Nuxhall Foundation president and board chairman Kim Nuxhall, the event is special because of what it represents and how it brings people together.
“Personally, this one is special,” says Nuxhall, “because it was the last event my mom, Donzetta, attended before her passing. I can always feel her love and energy in the room when we gather so many good people together. We are super grateful to Sheila and Amanda for being character-crusaders for our cause and championing this event year after year. Their commitment to our mission is so contagious!”
Playground Equipment Services steps up to the plate this year as the presenting sponsor for the event. PES owner and president Eric Schmidt and his entire crew have dedicated themselves to the improvement of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields and other similar facilities across the country. Thanks to funds raised at last year’s event, PES is currently installing a new, accessible Mini-City Playground at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields for young children and toddlers to experience inclusive, imaginative play together.
