Tyler Bradshaw Named Executive Director of The Nuxhall Foundation (June 20, 2021)
FAIRFIELD, OH (June 21, 2021)—The Nuxhall Foundation is adding a new starter to the rotation.
With a desire to protect the legacy of “The Ole Lefthander” for decades to come, Tyler Bradshaw has been named the Executive Director for The Nuxhall Foundation, effective
“This role is an unbelievably perfect fit for me because I get to serve Joe’s memory and the people he loved every single day,” says Bradshaw. “I grew up spending my summer nights listening to Joe and Marty while just wishing I could grow up to be like them. Now, I get to lead the organization that honors one of my greatest heroes. Not everyone gets an opportunity like this, and I realize how blessed I am to help carry on Joe’s story. I’m just going to work every day to try and make Joe and the Nuxhall family proud.”
Bradshaw’s role is a value-add for the Foundation. Volunteer CEO & President Kim Nuxhall will remain in his position; together, along with a committed Board of Directors, the two will direct the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals of the foundation that honors Nuxhall’s father.
“We have truly ‘struck gold’ with the addition of Tyler Bradshaw,” says Nuxhall. “His outstanding character and competence along with his unique ability to articulate all facets of the Nuxhall Foundation give us a high level of confidence in our future.”
Beyond his association as a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, Bradshaw’s connection to the Nuxhall name runs deep. For nine years, Bradshaw served as the Voice of the Hamilton Joes, the summer collegiate baseball team that bears Joe’s name. In 2015, Bradshaw joined the Board of Directors with the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields. As a volunteer with the organization, Bradshaw is a familiar face at Miracle League functions and fundraisers, often
serving as an event emcee. In 2019, Bradshaw became one of the inaugural members of The Nuxhall Foundation Board of Directors, and in 2020 he co-led the organization’s successful COVID Can’t campaign, which raised more than $175,000 to support the Nuxhall Miracle League Fields.
“The game plan is simple,” says Bradshaw. “In everything we do, we are going to make sure that future generations know who Joe Nuxhall was, what he stood for, and why his story is important. They will know the type of man The Ole Lefthander was and the character traits he embodied by looking at the projects that he inspired. Ultimately, initiatives like the Miracle
League Fields and the Memorial Scholarship are all tangible manifestations of Joe’s unbelievably-generous heart.”
Bradshaw’s top priorities on the new job include navigating a return to in-person events, crafting a new strategic plan, the rollout of a highly-anticipated Nuxhall Miracle League mascot, and the launch of an ambitious fundraising campaign for the construction of The Hope Center—an indoor recreational facility that will provide a year-round home for athletes with special needs.
The Greater Cincinnati community reacted to the announcement with joy and optimism, including Joe’s broadcast partner of more than 30 years, Marty Brennaman.
“The choice of Tyler as the Executive Director of The Nuxhall Foundation could not have been a better one,” says Brennaman, retired Hall of Fame broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds. “Considering his background and the success he has enjoyed at every level would indicate, without a doubt, Tyler Bradshaw will be an overwhelming success to a foundation that is very near to my heart. I am looking forward to big things on the horizon.”
Fairfield Mayor Steve Miller also weighed in on the news: “The Nuxhall Foundation has done a tremendous job in helping so many people and giving back to our communities, and appointing Tyler Bradshaw as its Executive Director will be a move that will ensure the organization will continue to produce excellent results and continue the mission to help others. Over the years, Tyler has shown his abilities and skillset to not only be a great leader but to be an example to others. I am positive that under his leadership the organization will grow and prosper to achieve even greater heights.”
Bradshaw and his wife, Paige, have been married since 2019 and were just recently blessed with the birth of their first child, a son named Jackson. Bradshaw is a graduate of Fairfield High School and Miami University, where he ends a successful decade-long career in college admission. Bradshaw is a well-regarded sports announcer in Greater Cincinnati for Chatterbox Sports, as well as a passionate mental health advocate. After losing his father, Scott, to suicide in 2013, Bradshaw started Seeya Bub, a blog where he writes regularly about suicide prevention, grief, and mental health.
“My dad had a heart for individuals with special needs,” says Bradshaw, “and in many ways, my dad reminded me so much of Joe. That connection isn’t lost on me. Kim and I have bonded tremendously in our grief over losing our fathers. Every day, I know that we each wake up just wanting to make our dads proud.”
“I just can’t think of a better person to share in carrying the legacy torch that Dad has passed down,” says Nuxhall.
The Nuxhall Foundation is the legacy foundation for former Major League Baseball pitcher and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster, Joe Nuxhall. A central foundation project is The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields, an entirely accessible baseball and recreational facility where every player with every challenge gets every chance to play. More than 200 players between ages 4 to 76 participate in programming at the Miracle League Fields. Additional legacy projects include The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship (providing scholarships to all fourteen Butler County high schools) and The Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund.

The 3rd Annual Joe Nuxhall Miracle Ball held Nov. 2nd 2016 was yet another
huge success. Over $75,000.00 dollars was raised during the sold out event in which NFL
Hall Of Fame lineman Anthony Munoz was honored with the Joe Nuxhall Humanitarian
Award for his impact on our youth in the community. Proceeds from the event will go
toward purchasing a wheelchair accessible merry-go-round called the Ability Whirl to be
installed in the early Spring. Funds will also be used for operations for the 2017 season as
well as the start of a fund to build a 9 hole wheelchair accessible mini-golf course on the
property. Again, a very special thanks to our presenting sponsor, The Hatton Foundation as
well as all our many other sponsors and supporters for making it a special evening. No
fundraiser is possible without the support of many selfless volunteers, our deepest
appreciation to you all for your time and energy. From all of us at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle
League Fields……Thank You! We look forward to seeing you in 2017 and please plan on

Dedication of the “Nuxy” Billboard (October 12, 2016)
What an incredible morning at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields! Since our grand opening in 2012, hundreds have said to me, “Your dad is so proud, and looking down with a big smile”. Now, thanks to the amazing illustrator C.F. Payne, he certainly is! So many to thank starting with of course C.F. Payne, Don Lair of Ohio Sign, Chad Hurst of Signtech, Gary Hart of H & H Structural who all took the imagined idea & concept from a print, to adding an amazing billboard of art to the complex. For generations, we hope children will look up with their parents/grandparents and ask, “Who’s that?” and then, the learning can begin. To include the lessons of dad’s life; work hard, treat people with respect, stay humble, make sacrifices for others, give back, take care of our kids, and inspire others to do the same. Thanks to all of you who joined us this morning for what was, next to opening day on July 28th 2012, the next greatest moment in our brief JNML history.
A very grateful and overwhelmingly humbled,
— Reds Community Fund (@RedsCommunity) October 1, 2016
Talk about “icing on the cake” for an amazing day! Still looking for the words, as the Zboril family presented us with a “mind blowing” $4,900.00 check from yes, a neighborhood fundraiser! I don’t care what’s on the news! This is a shining example of the fact that there are “still” wonderful/giving/kind and generous people in the world and so many of them are right here in our community. Zboril’s…..You are AWESOME!!!….Thank to all!
Also, a BIG THANKS to Cincinnati Reds pitcher, Mike Lorenzen! He made the day even more special, as he signed autographs, and even pitched a game for the GMVY Youth Miracle League!
Cruise In For Kids Car Show 2016 (July 1, 2016)
What a wonderful weekend at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields for the 3rd annual “Cruise In For Kids Car Show”! We had over 150 cars, bikes, and dragsters! We also had great food from Hammann’s Catering and Chester’s Pizza, aerial drone footage from Mitch Rhodus at Halo Branded Solutions (video below), great music from DJ Mike, and awesome live music from 5th Crow! Despite the heat, we had a great turnout, and there was an undeniable energy in the air! All together, we raised over $16,000 for our kids! Not only was it an amazing event, but also an emotional day for all of us at JNMLF as we dedicated “Kenny “Bob’s” IBEW Plaza”, and added three new laser-etched plaques thanks to Jim Smith, owner of Laser Imaging & Design in Lebanon! We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and volunteers who made this event possible! You all are amazing! Thanks to all who attended and contributed to make it a special memory for us all. A special “THANK YOU” to the awesome George Grande for adding his typical highest level of class to the presentation and giving the Great Miami Valley YMCA Youth League players a thrill when announcing their names for the exhibition game following the ceremony. Also, a special THANKS to our friend Jim Smith, owner of Laser Imaging in Lebanon for yet “another” outstanding granite image addition to the complex, Jeff Francis who did a wonderful job building the brick wall in just a week, the awesome helpful Randy Hassler for his diligence in installing the plaque, and Jim Bell with the Fairfield Parks who took care of us for the ceremony with our seating. East Field receives new LED video board (December 29, 2015)
We are very proud to announce the addition of our brand new LED video board to the East Field at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields! Now, no matter on which field our all-stars are playing, they will have the opportunity to see themselves on the big screen while they’re at bat… just like at all the Major League ballparks! And with the help of awesome people like Kenny ‘Bob’ Rhodus and his IBEW 648 Electrical Union brothers, LSI Industries, Enerfab, Middletown Electric, Wagner Industries, McGraw/Kokosing, Tristate Productions and Cincy Entertainment Services, both of our video boards will have state-of-the-art functionality… with video playback and other great features! Be sure to stop by The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields during our 2016 season to check it out!
A little background on the naming of the new Edward and Roberta Bruck Memorial Video Board on the LCPL Taylor Prazynski Memorial Field:
LCPL Taylor Prazynski was a former student of Kim Nuxhall and volunteered in the special needs classrooms while in high school. In 2003, Taylor joined the USMC; he served as a 0311 infantryman and saw gunner with the 3rd Bat/8th Marine Reg Lima Company 4th Platoon. His unit did a peacekeeping mission in Haiti 2004 and deployed to Iraq 2005. Taylor was part of history supporting the 1st free election in Iraq. He was killed in the line of duty on May 9, 2005 in the Al Anbar Province supporting Operation Matador. Kim Nuxhall wanted to honor Taylor’s service to both the special needs community and to our country by naming The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Field’s East field after LCPL Taylor Prazynski. Taylor’s father, John, and his family are great supporters of our mission and we are proud to have them as members of our JNMLF family.
On one Saturday morning during our GMVY Youth Miracle League games, Mr. & Mrs. Brent Parks visited the fields to watch the kids play. While there, they noticed that the LCPL Taylor Prazynski Memorial Field did not currently have a video board. Wanting to learn more about LCPL Taylor Prazynski and the need for a video board on this field, they spoke with Kim Nuxhall that day. Upon hearing the story, they were inspired to make a contribution to allow us to purchase a new LED video board for our East Field. Wanting to honor them for their selfless contribution, the video board was named after their loved ones, Edward and Roberta Bruck. We cannot thank the Parks and Bruck families enough for their support of not only the new video board, but our mission in general.
