Karlee Thomas tries out a batting machine developed by the organization "May We Help" along with GE Aviation.
May We Help is a nonprofit organization in Cincinnati, Ohio that recruits skilled engineers to help develop customized devices to assist people with physical or mental disabilities. These devices help individuals in need to engage and experience a better quality of life.
The machine is designed provide players who can't swing a bat with the opportunity to get into the batters box and smack a baseball with just the touch of a button.
A safety interlock is held by a helper, or official, (seen center) to prevent injury to anyone teeing up the ball or approaching the plate before the batter actually "swings"
A huge debt of gratitude is due the great people from May We Help and GE Aviation.
Thank you guys!
