NUXHALL FIELDS, YMCA & ABC PEDIATRIC THERAPY NETWORK
JOIN TO ENHANCE PLAYER EXPERIENCE
In an effort to improve the quality and enhance the therapeutic value of play at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields the expertise of West Chester based ABC Pediatric Therapy Network will be a part of every game during the Spring 2015 season according to Kim Nuxhall, League Chairman and son of legendary Reds broadcaster Joe Nuxhall.
Diane L. Crecelius is CEO and founder of ABC Pediatric Therapy Network where their mission is to provide high quality speech, physical and occupational therapy for children with challenges. Diane commented on the Nuxhall-YMCA collaboration saying, “Supporting the children and families involved with the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields directly parallels ABC’s mission of “creating the best life for all children”. We have a great respect for the work that The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League and the Great Miami Valley YMCA does, and we are honored to be a part of a team creating the best baseball experience for the players and their families. We believe every child should have a baseball experience.”
Youth Miracle Leagues at The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields are organized by the Fairfield Family YMCA, where Branch Executive Director Damon Knoche and his team organize volunteer “buddies” who support the goals of each player finding success on the field. Knoche commented, “In addition to supporting the development of our players, ABC Pediatric Therapy Network’s team of therapists will also serve to provide our volunteers with training opportunities to enhance their own skills in assisting our players. Starting this April, our youth program will be the first in the country to have such a tremendous collaborative partner serve in this capacity. The impact that this partnership will have on players, their families and our community of volunteers is priceless.”
ABC Pediatric Therapy Network’s West Chester headquarters will also host a Youth Miracle League Kickoff Event on Saturday, March 21 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Licensed therapists will focus player sessions on developing skills at batting, throwing and catching, running the bases, and meeting and interacting with other teammates. Additionally, volunteer “buddies” will have the opportunity to learn helpful hints to help assist facilitation through sensory processing, learning tips on how to communicate with non-verbal players, and how to properly assist players with adaptive equipment.
ABC Pediatric Therapy Network is located at 7591 Tylers Place Boulevard in West Chester. For more information about the Youth Miracle League Kickoff Event and other Youth Miracle League opportunities, contact Damon Knoche at firstname.lastname@example.org.
